Kimberly Snyder Mehta, J.D.
Since 2011 Kim has contracted with Know Your Options as an independent educational consultant (IEC). Kim used her knowledge, expertise and skill set to single-handedly develop Know Your Options’ graduate and professional school admissions practice.
Specializing in Graduate and Professional School Consulting
Kim guides students interested in law school, MBA programs, medical school, dental school, pharmacy school, and numerous master’s and Ph.D. programs ranging from Human Resources to Physical Therapy. In addition to her work successfully advising students interested in furthering their education by attending graduate and professional schools, Kim provides guidance to high school students with their essay writing and the undergraduate college application process.
As an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), www.iecaonline.com, Kim is working towards meeting the requirements for professional membership with specialty designations in college and graduate schools. She is also a professional member of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), www.hecaonline.org. Since January 2015, Kim has served as the administrator of the Metropolitan Information eXchange (MIX), an IECA/HECA regional group, and in June 2016 accepted a one-year appointment as vice-chair of IECA’s Outreach Committee. She previously served on IECA’s College Committee. To further her own education about the field of educational consulting, in the summer of 2014 Kim participated in and graduated from IECA’s Summer Training Institute.
A Fairfax County, Virginia native and graduate of Fairfax County Public Schools, Kim received her Bachelor of Arts degree from George Mason University’s School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution, where she concentrated in Community and Organizational Conflicts.
While attending GMU, Kim interned at Northern Virginia Mediation Service, the Association for Conflict Resolution, and the Federal Emergency Management Association’s (FEMA) Alternative Dispute Resolution Department.
After graduating, Kim worked at Marriott International Headquarters as a Project Purchasing Representative while she prepared to go on to law school. She completed her J.D. at Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law. Before establishing herself as an Independent Educational Consultant through KA Solutions, while in law school Kim interned at Know Your Options. She also guided local high school students through the college application process while teaching with the Street Law Program, and worked as a student attorney with Columbus Community Legal Services, where she managed cases involving an array of family law issues.
